Zeekr Announces Expansion to Denmark, Its Fifth European Country

Zeekr announced on Friday it is expanding to Denmark, which becomes its fifth market in Europe.

The lineup of the Geely-backed brand in the country will include the station wagon Zeekr 001, the urban SUV Zeekr X and the recently launched SUV 7X.

The Zeekr 001 is priced from 454,900 DKK ($70,000), while the Zeekr X’s prices begin at 279,900 DKK ($42,900).

The 7X, which had its first European delivery exactly a month ago, starts from 399,900 DKK — equivalent to $61,400.

The company’s network in the Danish market will rely on local dealerships. The brand is collaborating with Nielsen Automotive Group, which represents brands like GM’s Chevrolet, Stellantis‘ Jeep and Chrysler, Ford, Hyundai, Kia and Nissan.

The brand also celebrated a partnership with Pedersen & Nielsen Automobilforretning currently sells models from Volvo, Volkswagen and (also) Geely-backed Polestar.

From January 1 to May 31, out of 70,500 vehicles sold in Denmark, about 64% were fully electric, with only 19% being internal combustion engine (ICE) models.

Data from Mobility Denmark showed that the best-selling new energy vehicle brand during that period was Tesla, which sold 2,470 vehicles, followed by XPeng, which registered 1,264 units.

BYD and Polestar followed, with 928 and 858 vehicles respectively. Zeekr’s main competitor, the Nio brand, hasn’t sold any EVs so far this year.

According to a statement by Zeekr, the first showrooms are open in Hørsholm and Ã…rhus, with “more to follow.”

The automaker entered Europe via Sweden and the Netherlands in late 2023. It has since expanded to Norway and France in 2024.

This year, besides launching in Denmark, the brand aims to expand to Switzerland, Belgium and Greece.

In late April, EV learned that Zeekr was prepared to enter Germany via local dealership networks.

The brand had initially intended to enter the country with a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model in 2024.

Earlier this week, Zeekr set a new charging record in Europe with its 7X SUV in a charging station in Slovakia.

The vehicle charged from 10 to 80% in 17 minutes and 54 seconds, reaching peak charging power of 413 kW at 12% state of charge.
