Geely-backed premium brand Zeekr has set a new charging record in Europe with its 7X SUV.
The record was set by the first Zeekr 7X unit shipped to Slovakia, according to Slovak media outlet HuntinSpeed.
The model was launched last year in China, and European deliveries started in mid-May.
The tested 7X SUV is equipped with CATL’s 100 kWh Qilin battery, which uses 800V architecture. The vehicle charged from 10 to 80% in 17 minutes and 54 seconds.
At 12% SoC, it reached a peak charging power of 413 kW, drawing 589 amps at 700 volts, which set a new European record.
The car sustained over 390 kW of power for nearly 5 minutes. After reaching 50% state of charge (SoC), the charging speed began to decrease, but still pulled 220 kW at 80% SoC.
According to the report, the model had already demonstrated high charging performance a few days earlier, reaching a peak of 347 kW and charging from 25% to 70% in just 9 minutes.
Zeekr‘s 7X was then formally tested at ejoin GO’s 600 kW charging hub, which claims to be Slovakia’s most powerful charger.
It’s the same station where Tesla’s Cybertruck set a record by briefly hitting 405 kW peak power. However, unlike the 7X SUV, the charging performance dropped quickly.
The 7X was also tested in China before, where it reached 450 kW peak charging, taking 12 minutes to go from 0 to 80% SoC.
In China, Zeekr‘s supercharging power has increased from 360 kW to 800 kW over the past three years, according to the company’s vice president, Zhao Yuhui.
According to the brand’s website, Zeekr Power’s network features over 4,000 chargers across more than 1,500 stations covering 183 cities in China.
From those, 860 are stations equipped with 800V ultra fast-charging technology.
Available as an all-wheel drive in Slovakia, the Zeekr 7X has a 480 kW powertrain, capable of 0—100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds.
The SUV has a range of 542 km (336.8 miles).
A recently conducted range test in Norway showed that the model can reach 585 km, 8% above the range it claims to have.
