Chinese carmaker Zeekr said on Wednesday that it has officially expanded to Belgium.
The country becomes the sixth market in Europe for the Geely-backed premium brand, after the expansion to Denmark was announced last week.
The Gothenburg-based carmaker will be present in the Belgian market through collaboration with local distributors, such as ‘Sterckx – De Smet,’ which represents Geely’s Volvo and Polestar brands, but also the Japanese automakers Suzuki and Isuzu.
It is also partnering with ‘Groupe Schyns,’ responsible for Stellantis-based brands like Citroën, Peugeot and Alpha Romeo, and Stellantis-backed Chinese carmaker Leapmotor.
The company further announced that its first showrooms in the country have opened in Brussels, Gent, Liège, and Namur, “with more to follow.”
Zeekr’s portfolio in the European country includes the station wagon Zeekr 001, which is priced from €60,990 ($71,500), and the urban SUV Zeekr X, with the entry-level trim available from €37,990 ($44,500).
Prices for the 7X SUV begin at €53,990, equivalent to $63,300. The model was first delivered in Europe a month ago.
It claims to have a range of 480 km (about 300 miles) and to be capable of charging from 10 to 80% in 13 minutes.
According to a range study in Norway last month, the Zeekr 7X Privilege All Wheel-Drive trim, which claims a range of 541 km, provided 585 km of autonomy, 8% above.
The automaker entered Europe via Sweden and the Netherlands in late 2023. It has since expanded to Norway, France and Denmark.
The brand had announced its intentions to enter Belgium, Switzerland and Greece earlier this year. In late April, EV learned that Zeekr was prepared to enter Germany via local dealership networks.
Last month, Zeekr sold 109 units in Norway, the world’s leading country in EV adoption, where electric vehicles represented 96.9% of the total 18,376 vehicles registered.
According to Elbilstatistikk, 86 of them were 7X SUVs. The model’s prices in the Norwegian market start from 500,087 NOK, equivalent to $49,500.
In Sweden, the brand registered 155 electric vehicles, with 132 being 7Xs, which is priced from 579,000 SEK ($60,900).
The Zeekr 7X represented 99 of the total 150 vehicles sold in the Netherlands last month. Prices begin at €52,990, equivalent to $62,100.
