Polestar sold approximately 46,479 vehicles across Europe in 2025, according to data compiled by EV based on the national registration agencies and the EU-EVs data platform.
Globally, the premium EV brand sold 60,119 vehicles in 2025 — marking a 34% jump from 2024.
The figures represent a 55.7% jump from 2024 — when 29,855 units were listed — mostly driven by doubling figures registered in the United Kingdom, which remains the company’s strongest market.
Last month, the brand registered 5,785 vehicles across 14 out of its 15 European markets. As of press time, registration data for Italy had not yet been disclosed.
Excluding France — where it only entered in early 2025 — and Italy, Polestar had sold 3,507 vehicles in the final month of 2024.
The premium brand backed by China’s Geely Holding Group saw its sales increase 65% compared to the same month a year ago.
The brand’s monthly registrations in Europe show sharp fluctuations largely due to the brand’s dependence on manufacturing and shipping cycles in China and the US.
The Polestar 2 has been produced at the Luqiao factory in Zhejiang, China, since 2020.
Production of the Polestar 3 SUV is split between Chengdu, China, and Volvo’s plant in South Carolina, US.
The company started production of its Polestar 4 in Hangzhou Bay, China. From late last year, the model has also been manufactured in Busan, South Korea, in a partnership with Renault Korea.
The new factory will serve North American markets, according to the brand, which also revealed that the first units have been shipped to Canada already.
It remains unclear whether vehicles will also be shipped to Europe later on.

Polestar officially launched in France early last year, after a delay caused by a legal dispute with Citroën over similar logos.
The first vehicle was registered in April and 209 other units followed until the end of 2025.
December was a record sales month for the company there, with 93 vehicles sold.
Southern Europe
Polestar entered Portugal, Spain and Italy in mid-2022.
In both Portugal and Italy, sales in 2025 stayed at around 500 to 700 units while Spanish figures are slightly above, at over 800.
However, in the first two countries, registrations have doubled since 2024.
According to ACAP, Polestar sold 44 vehicles in Portugal last month, its second month of sales decline after a strong sales performance throughout the year.
Official registration data from the Spanish association ANFAC does not disclose registrations per brand. Italy’s ANFIA does, but Polestar sales are not reported.
According to the EU-EVs platform, the brand registered 154 EVs in Spain last month, a slight decrease from the 162 units listed a year ago.
Data suggests that Polestar sold 60 vehicles in the Italian market in November, and 25 units in December 2024.
Last month’s figures were not yet published.

Late last year, the brand opened its “largest ever showroom” in Sweden.
