Polestar, which began delivering its third fully-electric model in Europe earlier this week, announced on Wednesday its Design Chief Maximilian Missoni is leaving the company to “take up a new role outside of Polestar.”

Missoni had joined the Geely-backed brand in mid July after spending nearly nine years at Volvo Cars where he became Vice President of Exterior Design in 2014.

To replace him, Polestar said on Wednesday it has appointed the former Head of Exterior Design from Audi, Philipp Römers. Before joining AUDI AG, he was a leading designer at Volkswagen AG.

In a statement, Römers said, “Polestar is the role model of a design-driven automotive company and it’s a great honour to take on the responsibility for the design department. I’m looking forward to working with the creative team to design the next generation of Polestar cars.”

The company has recently delivered the first units of the Polestar 3 at its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
