Polestar sold 542 electric vehicles in the United States last month, according to data released by Motor Intelligence.
Sales of the Geely-backed brand declined both sequentially (by 6.7%) and year over year (by 5.6%). In July 2024, Polestar had reportedly registered 574 units in the country.
Year to date, the premium brand has sold 3,822 vehicles, slightly down by 2.7% from last year’s 3,929 units sold between January and July.
According to Motor Intelligence, which separates “cars” from “trucks,” Polestar sold 38 Polestar 2 sedans and 504 Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 SUVs.
The brand unveiled the Polestar 4 SUV in late 2023, with deliveries starting in Europe in the third quarter of 2024. Despite having opened orders in the US in April 2024, the brand never delivered the model in the country.
Early last month, the Gothenburg-headquartered brand opened orders for the 2026 Polestar 4 in the United States, with a starting price of $56,400. Deliveries are planned for this fall.
Prices for the Polestar 3 were cut by $10,000, currently starting at $57,500. The company led by Michael Lohscheller began deliveries of the Polestar 3 model in the US and Canada last October.
Customers who chose to purchase the Polestar 3 SUV had a 0% interest rate on contracts with a term of up to 72 months, available until the end of July.
The offer was renewed from August 1 through September 2, if the customer is taking delivery of the vehicle on or before the end date.
If leasing a Polestar 3, customers can now save up to $18,000 — depending on the version of the SUV — as listed on the brand’s website. The offers are valid until September 2 as well.
Until September 30, when the $7,500 EV tax credit is scheduled to end in the US, customers can receive a $15,000 Polestar Clean Vehicle Incentive.
Those choosing to trade a Tesla vehicle for a Polestar 2 could, until July 31, benefit from a $1,000 Conquest Bonus.
The sedan model is currently only available in the country as pre-owned units, as inventory units have sold out.
Earlier this year, the brand removed the option to configure a Polestar 2 from its U.S. website, as uncertainty grew around auto tariffs announced by Donald Trump.
No other offers were included in August.
Sales from the Gothenburg-based EV maker also saw sequential declines in European markets, however, the figures were up year over year in most of them.
In Sweden, its registration numbers nearly halved last month, compared to June’s record 1,010 vehicles sold, as auto sales are usually weaker in July. Sales increased by 42% when compared to July 2024.
Polestar sold 179 vehicles in the Netherlands, a 58.8% drop from the record 434 units sold a month before, and Norwegian sales of the brand plunged 73.5% to 193 units. Despite that, registrations surged year over year by 68.9% and 107.5%, respectively.
Motor Intelligence estimates that Tesla sold 53,816 vehicles in the US last month, a 17.9% sequential rise from the 45,628 units sold in June.
Registrations were also up 1.5% compared to the same month last year, marking the first time in 2025 that Tesla has seen a year-over-year increase in monthly registrations.
The premium EV maker Lucid Motors sold 890 vehicles in July — a 28% increase from the prior year and the third-highest monthly total of 2025, trailing only March and May.
Rivian sold 4,200 vehicles in the US in July, a 14% decline from a year earlier. However, the figures represented a 20% increase from June and the strongest month since last September.
