Geely-backed brand Polestar registered a new sales record in the UK last month, with 2,595 vehicles, according to data from the SMMT released on Friday.
Sales figures doubled from the previous month, when it sold 1,174 units, and nearly tripled from a year ago, when Polestar had listed 660 cars in the country.
In June, the UK remained the largest market for the brand. In Sweden and Norway, the brand also reached new records, selling 1,010 and 434 units, respectively.
The previous monthly sales record in the UK was reached in March with 2,434 vehicles.
Year to date, the Gothenburg-based brand registered 8,323 vehicles in the country, jumping 203.5% from the 2,742 sold a year earlier.
Sales in the U.S. surged 83% to 581 vehicles, while in Germany, Europe’s largest auto market, the brand registered 517 EVs, a new two year-high.
The EV maker is currently offering discounted prices on its lineup in the country, with its Polestar 2 sedan and Polestar 4 SUV’s starting prices lowered by £2,000 (around $2,700) to £43,160 ($59,000) and £58,000 ($79,200) respectively.
Its most expensive model, the Polestar 3 SUV, starts from £67,910, equivalent to $92,800.
The brand also set 0% APR financing for customers purchasing inventory units between July 1 and September 30.
In a total of 191,316 vehicles sold last month in the UK, 47,354 were battery electric vehicles. EV adoption in the country grew by 39.1% in June, with fully electric vehicles representing 24.8% of the market.
Despite new energy vehicles (NEV) accounting for nearly 92,600 of the vehicles, internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles remained the top choice for consumers in June. ICE vehicles represented over 98,700 units — 51.6% of the market.

The island’s best-selling model in June was the Nissan Qashqai, outperforming the Ford Puma hybrid SUV, which ranked first in May.
The model, available in both fully electric and hybrid versions, accounted for over 5,000 of the vehicles listed.
U.S. brand Tesla led the NEV market with over 7,700 EVs sold in June. The refreshed Model Y was UK’s third best-selling model, accounting for 4,181 of the units sold.
BYD registered 4,583 hybrid and fully electric models in the island last month, a 557.5% surge year over year. Sales were up 51.4% sequentially.
XPeng, which expanded to the UK four months ago, registered 114 units in June — its new record sales month. The brand sold a total of 165 vehicles since it entered the market.
