Sales from the Geely-backed brand Polestar in the UK have doubled year over year in November, jumping from 672 vehicles to 1,348 units.
According to data published Thursday by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the figures also represent a sequential rise of 8% from the 1,248 units registered in October.
The brand has registered 15,226 units from January 1 through November 30, nearly doubling from a year ago, when it had sold 7,795 EVs in the first eleven months of the year.
Updated Portfolio
Polestar‘s portfolio in the UK includes its Polestar 2 sedan, the Polestar 3 and 4 SUVs and the recently launched Polestar 5 GT.
Last month, the Gothenburg-based company debuted its Polestar 5 four-door performance Grand Tourer, at Germany’s IAA Auto Show.
The vehicle is priced from £89,500, and deliveries are expected to begin in the Spring of 2026.
The UK is the first country to receive the upgraded Polestar 3, which was released two months ago, “due to high demand and the previous model year being sold out in that market.”
The British website, now updated to feature the new version of the Polestar 3, lists the starting price at £69,990 ($93,500).
The estimated delivery time has increased to eight to nine months, up from five to six months when the new version was first released.
The EV maker is currently offering discounted prices on its lineup in the country, with its Polestar 2 sedan and Polestar 4 SUV’s starting prices lowered by £2,000 (around $2,700) to £43,160 ($58,000) and £58,000 ($78,000) respectively.
In October, Polestar started offering a seasonal offering of £2,000 off the vehicle list price, for its models 2, 3 and 4, valid until December 31.
Since then, the company has also introduced 0% APR on the three models, with the same deadline.
New Spaces
Last month, Polestar opened several new spaces across the old continent, including a ‘Polestar Space Urban’ in Wilmslow.
The information was first shared by country chief Matt Galvin on LinkedIn, who also revealed that a new space dedicated to pre-owned vehicles and logistics popped up in Bury St Edmunds.
The company has recently opened its “largest ever” showroom in Sweden, where its operations are based.
Earlier this year, Polestar set a target of increasing the number of retail spaces by %75 before the end of 2026.
In the company’s latest earnings call, CEO Michael Lohscheller said that the company has increased the number of sales points by 54% to 192, excluding China — where the EV maker is struggling with demand.
Competitors
Volkswagen remained the best-selling brand in the country, with over 13,000 vehicles registered in November. BMW, Ford, Hyundai, and Kia followed.
EVs represented a 26.5% share of the 151,151 new vehicles registered in the country last month, meaning one in every four cars purchased in the UK last month was fully electric.
Polestar had a 0.9% market share across the whole market, while competitor Tesla held 2.5% of all vehicle sales.
Tesla sold 3,772 vehicles last month, a 17% drop from a year ago.
Chinese automaker XPeng, which only sells its G6 SUV in the country up to date, registered 91 units, while BYD, which offers both plug-in hybrids and fully electric models, sold 4,637 vehicles last month.
