Geely Holding Group‘s premium brand Polestar, which is headquartered in Sweden, sold 2,667 vehicles last month across eleven out of its thirteen markets in Europe — a 22.2% increase from 2,182 vehicles sold a year ago.
The figures halved (53.7%) from the 5,756 vehicles registered in June, amid the typical end of quarter sales push.

Including Italy, which did not disclose Polestar July sales in official registration data, the June total represented 5,844 vehicles.
Polestar’s monthly registrations in Europe show sharp fluctuations largely due to the brand’s dependence on manufacturing and shipping cycles in China and the US.
The Polestar 2 has been produced at the Luqiao factory in Zhejiang, China, since 2020. Production of the Polestar 3 SUV is split between Chengdu, China, and Volvo’s plant in South Carolina, US.
The Polestar 4, currently built in Hangzhou Bay, China, is expected to start being produced in Busan, South Korea, later this year.
The new factory will serve the US market, according to the brand. It remains unclear whether vehicles will also be shipped to Europe from there.
In the Swedish market, July sales rose by 42.7% year over year, from the 377 units sold a year ago. The brand registered 538 vehicles in July, nearly half of the record 1,010 EVs sold a month before.
Sales in Finland plunged to 40 units. In June, the brand had set a new high with 247 vehicles. A year ago, the brand sold 68 vehicles in the market.
In Norway, Polestar doubled its sales year over year — from 93 to 193 vehicles — despite registrations having dropped sharply from June, when it had registered 774 units.
The automaker sold 112 electric vehicles in Denmark, slightly down from the 160 units sold in July 2024. Compared to June, sales in the Scandinavian market declined by half from 258 vehicles.
The brand sold 820 vehicles in the UK last month, just four additional units than the 816 EVs registered a year ago, according to the SMMT.
Registrations fell by 68.4% sequentially, after it set a new monthly record of 2,595 vehicles sold.
“Our 12th consecutive month of YoY growth is now in the bag after finishing July 157% up YTD!,” the country chief Matt Gallvin wrote on LinkedIn. “We also recorded our best Pre-Owned sales performance since March, which gives me confidence that the transition to EV is still very much happening.”
In Ireland, where the company is present since 2022, it sold 53 units. Sales more than doubled from a year ago, when it registered 22 cars.
June was a slower month for the premium brand in the Irish market in both 2024 and 2025. In June 2025, it sold four units; a year before, it had registered 16.
July figures also showed a sequential decline of 58.8% in the Netherlands. In the previous month, the brand had recorded 434 vehicles in the market; in July, however, sales tumbled to 179 units.
However, Dutch registrations jumped by 68.9% year over year from 106 units.
In Germany, Polestar hit a new two-year high with 670 vehicles sold in July. The numbers were up from the 517 units sold in June and the 422 vehicles sold in the same period a year ago.
Earlier this week, the brand appointed Jan Grindemann as the new chief for the German market, replacing Willem Baudewijns, who will now refocus on leading the Dutch market.
According to Portugal’s ACAP, Polestar sold 32 EVs in the country last month. The figures more than doubled from the 13 units registered in the same period a year ago, despite the decline from June’s 111 vehicles.
Official registration data from the Spanish association ANFAC does not disclose registrations per brands.
According to the EU-EVs platform, the brand registered 30 vehicles in Spain in July, a month over month plunge from 234 units and year over year tumble from 105 units.
Data from the platform suggests that Polestar sold 88 vehicles in Italy in June. However, July sales figures have not yet been released. In July 2024, the brand sold 11 EVs there.
Although the company entered the Italian market in 2022, alongside Portugal and Spain, Italy’s automotive association ANFIA does not report the brand’s vehicle registrations.
Polestar officially opened orders in France in early June, where it is partnering with Volvo’s retail network. The brand’s sales were not disclosed on official CCFA data for July.
The brand plans to grow its European retail footprint to more than 180 locations by 2027.
