Marques Brownlee —or MKBHD—, one of the most watched tech YouTubers, published a review of the SUV Polestar 3, praising (part of) its design and audio system while criticizing usability and the battery range.

The model starts at $67,500 in the United States for the single-motor version with the dual-motor starting at $73,400. Brownlee reviewed the performance version, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and air suspension. “I think it looks phenomenal,” he remarked. “If I was designing a car, this is what I would have done.”

“I really like this one, but there are a few weird things about it. It’s amazing how far the highest highs and the lowest lows are from each other in this thing,” Brownlee noted in the video.

Brownlee highlighted the Polestar 3’s standout exterior features, including aerodynamic design elements like a fully functional front wing, low roofline, and large diamond-cut wheels.

The Plus Pack, which is available for additional $5,500, adds a graphical head-up display, a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a power-operated steering column, Air Quality with PM 2.5 sensor, soft-close doors, and some more features.

“The seats are very comfortable,” he said, adding that the Bowers & Wilkins sound system was “either the second best or the best speaker system I have ever heard in a car, period.”

The dual-motor version offers an estimated 270 miles per charge, which he described as insufficient. “I wish it was more,” he said. He also expressed frustration with the vehicle’s reliance on touchscreen controls, which he found less intuitive compared to physical buttons. “The glove box only opens with a button on the touchscreen. There isn’t even a handle.”

Brownlee also noted the vehicle’s UX/UI in areas like window controls and fan adjustments. “Some things are several clicks away,” he explained. “I don’t want to do that while I’m driving.”

On the road, Brownlee praised the Polestar 3’s performance in its higher trims. “Straight-line acceleration, awesome. Handling, awesome,” he said, while acknowledging the air suspension helped deliver a smooth ride even with large wheels.

“At the end of the day, it’s kind of like, I have a crush on this car, but I know it’s not for me.” He added, “It’s amazing, but that gap—it’s crazy. Keep working on it though, Polestar. Please, please don’t stop working on these.”
