Geely Holding Group is accelerating its global expansion in the Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) region, bringing three new brands to both markets.
The Chinese auto giant will now have six of its automotive brands under a single distributor in New Zealand for the first time as it officially launches Zeekr, Geely Auto and Farizon Auto brands to the market.
NordEast Vehicle Distributors, a new division of the Giltrap Group, will distribute Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Geely, Zeekr, and Farizon across New Zealand.
The group’s retail rollout includes new Geely Auto, Farizon, and Zeekr dealerships planned to open on September 15.
NordEast plans to cover the full spectrum of electrified vehicles will be supported by flagship and multi-brand dealerships, backed by nine investor partners representing 85% of New Zealand’s EV market — according to the group General Manager Dane Fisher.
Zeekr models including the X, the 009, and the 7X will be available to New Zealand customers.
“On 21 August 2025, we officially brought Zeekr to New Zealand – a significant step forward in our mission to deliver premium, zero-emission mobility across both Australia and New Zealand,” Zeekr International’s Vice President wrote on LinkedIn earlier this Monday.
The first Zeekr locations in the country will open in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, and Christchurch.
Zeekr delivered 16,977 vehicles in July across all its markets, a slight sequential increase of 1.5% from June’s 16,702 vehicles.
Deliveries were also up from the 15,655 vehicles sold a year before.
From January 1 to July 31, the figures reached 107,707 units — meaning the brand surpassed 100,000 vehicles delivered year to date. It completed 33.7% of its yearly target, as it aims to deliver 320,000 vehicles by year-end.
The Zeekr Group includes the Lynk & Co brand, which delivered 27,216 vehicles last month — 3.4% up from the 26,310 vehicles registered in June.
Between the two brands, the group delivered 44,193 units last month — and a total of 258,993 vehicles from January 1 to July 31.
With a guidance of 710,000 units, the group reached 36.5% of the target in the first seven months of the year.
Zeekr recently started deliveries of its 7X SUV in Europe and in right-hand drive markets like Hong Kong and Australia. The model was launched in China in September 2024.
In mid-July, the Zeekr Group said it entered a definitive agreement to merge with Geely Automobile Holdings.
It will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Geely and will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange with the move expected to be finalized before the year end.
