Last June, electric vehicle maker Fisker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware after failed buyout negotiations with automakers earlier this year.
A few weeks later, a group of Fisker customers formed a non-profit association named “Fisker Owners Association” aiming to ensure continued access to parts and services for all the Fisker Ocean SUVs.
On Tuesday, the non-profit told EV it has secured 19 service centers in the United States and three in Canada where owners can get the Ocean SUV repaired. For service points in Europe, FOA says it is currently “in progress” as it aims to expand the network also in North America.
“After months of uncertainty, Fisker Ocean owners in North America now have access to approved, qualified service centers where they can get their vehicles serviced,” a spokesperson told EV.
All the service centers are equipped with the “FAST” diagnostic tool which is required for servicing Fisker vehicles.

In early June, customers have taken to social media to voice their worries regarding the availability of spare parts. By then, the company reacted in a statement saying its suppliers “are obligated to provide 10 years’ worth of parts.”
Last week, the company’s Austrian subsidiary submitted a revised restructuring plan to the regional court as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
In June 2021, Fisker contracted Graz-based Magna Steyr to manufacture its Ocean vehicles. However, of the 40,000 units initially planned, only 10,000 have been produced until the crisis escalated earlier this year.
