The troubled electric vehicle (EV) startup Canoo has seen its official website go fully offline, now redirecting all visitors to a third-party-managed investor relations page.
Last week, the website was partially down with specific pages, such as the press section and the showroom, displaying of the “Error 1033” message. The homepage and some other pages remained accessible at the time.
The error suggested that non-cached parts of the website were down, potentially due to a server or web-hosting issue.
As of Sunday, however, the entire website is inaccessible, with all traffic being redirected to the external IR site, which remains operational. It remains unclear whether the outage was a deliberate move or caused by external factors.
The earlier Cloudflare-originated error, “Error 1033,” typically indicates a server configuration issue or an inability to connect to the website’s origin server.
Canoo has been fighting for survival over the last few months and currently has its factories shut down after being forced to furlough most of its staff for about three months aiming to save operations costs.
Canoo shares hit a new record low on Friday and closed 9.4% lower at $1.15.
As recently reported by EV, the company is auctioning engineering and manufacturing equipment from its EV and battery facilities in Oklahoma. Following the recent three rounds of furloughs affecting most of its staff, the auction organizer BidItup has announced that the sale will take place via webcast later this month, on January 24.
