BYD ’s premium sub-brand, Yangwang, has unveiled a video showcasing the U9 fully electric supercar, which reached an astonishing top speed of 233 mph.
Priced at RMB 1.68 million in China — equivalent to $235,350 — the model entered production in late July, with the first deliveries expected by the end of this month.
The two-seat model is equipped with four 240 kW electric motors that allow a total output of 960 kW (1,287 hp). The vehicle’s top speed was initially listed at 300 km/h (186 mph), but the test has now raised the bar making it one of the fastest electric cars in the world.
Here’s the video from the test on a race track.
The model targets other fully-electric performance cars such as the Tesla Model 3 Performance but also internal combustion models from traditional supercar brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini.
