BYD Sends Another 7,000 New Energy Vehicles to Europe

The car carrier ship from the auto giant BYD , the “Explorer No.1”, has left the Shenzhen port on Tuesday with 7,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) on its second journey to Europe.

In August 2023, Deltamarin announced that BYD had ordered four Car and Truck Carriers capable of transporting 9,2000 vehicles through China Merchants Group, with the first vessel scheduled for delivery in 2025.

The company plans to launch seven additional car carrier ships over the next two years.

Earlier this week, BYD unveiled in China the 2025 revamped version of its Dolphin electric vehicle (EV) model, with prices starting from 99,800 yuan ($13,730) while the top variants is price at 129,800 yuan ($17,850).

The model, which the first deliveries started in 2021, receives now an improved range, despite keeping the same price.

In 2023, the model accounted for 12% of all BYD sales, with 367,419 units sold — 79% more than in 2022. This all-electric hatchback, built on the e-platform 3.0, began deliveries in 2021.
