Battery electric vehicles (BEV) continued to lose market share in July as hybrid models registered an increase of 25.7% to over 270,000 units, data from the European auto association revealed.
BEV registrations declined by 10.8% to 102,705 units, with their total market share dropping to 12.1% from 13.5% a year earlier. Until the end of July, year to date registrations of fully electric models reached 815,399 units, achieving a 12.5% of market share.

In a reaction to the tariffs on China-made EVs announced earlier this month, ACEA has recently reiterated the critical role of free and fair trade in enabling a globally competitive European automotive industry.
