NEO Park construction started on April 29, 2021, and NIO is one of the largest members of the hub. The 16,950-acre park features three main function areas, smart manufacturing, R&D and living space, and eco-park. NeoPark will have a production capacity of one million electric cars and 100 GWh of batteries per year on an area of 11.3 square kilometers.

On Wednesday, the company said the first batch of ET5 production line pre-production vehicles officially rolled off the production line in Hefei. NIO confirmed that the achievement confirms “the beginning of the production line to formally verify the small batch production capacity of the vehicle to ensure that all parts are in a saleable state”.
In addition, NIO confirmed that more details — namely the ET5 interior — are going to be revealed during Chengdu Motor Show that will take place in the upcoming days in South China
“The ET5 is getting closer and closer, and we will bring you more information about the ET5 at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 26,” NIO said.
The EV maker detailed the next steps saying the production line will “continue to improve the quality status of parts and vehicles” followed by improving “the operational skills of production line personnel”. Next, NIO will carry out small-batch mass production operation verification and finally make the production line capable of mass production.
At the same time, the regulatory certification work for components such as smart cockpits and instruments is also carried out simultaneously at this stage. When the pre-production stage of the production line is completed, we will usher in the final mass production stage of ET5
Earlier this week, NIO posted a video of the shipping process of 200 NIO ET7 units confirming EV‘s recent report on August 11, the day that the ship left Lianyungang’s port in China.
Apart from that ship, Germany and Norway received another batch of NIO’s bigger sedan although in smaller quantities given its final purposes: test drives, internal road tests and presence at the showrooms.
